The competition has been tough and the evaluation even tougher because we have received lots of inspiring and wonderful ideas and existing projects, which made it hard on the selection committee to pick the 9 winners.

The 9 winning projects stem from a variety of fields, such as the environment, education, self-expression among others and they were selected based upon fixed selection criteria, which were equally taken into consideration with regards to all applying projects.

The winners had to all demonstrate social entrepreneurial skills, leadership skills and ability to work with and mobilize others, and a strong passion for and appreciation of Egypt and its diversity. All winners respect, abide by and demonstrate NM and Yahoo! Maktoob values: Diversity, Tolerance, Accepting the other, Transparency, Accountability, Pro-activity and Social responsibility, and they show commitment to the development of their social enterprise. Furthermore, all winning projects had to have a clear and specific idea with a well defined mission and objectives with a tangible impact on target beneficiaries or clients.

Yahoo! Maktoob and Nahdet El Mahrousa are proud to adopt the 9 winning projects and offer them different services such as financial awards, technical assistance, a legal umbrella, accounting services, infrastructure facilities, and volunteers among others.
